Students must be over 18 years of age,
Student must have successfully completed Year 12 in Australia or overseas
Students must have either an overall IELTS score of 5.5, PTE (Pearson Test of English) score of 42 or equivalent.

Entry requirements will be checked at enrollment in line with the RTO’s Student entry requirements, selection, enrollment and orientation policy.
At SMC, our International students are expected to meet minimum English Language requirements in line with the RTO’s Student entry requirements, selection, enrollment and orientation policy. Student are also required to complete Identify Learners Needs Form to complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy analysis for each student before relevant corrective actions are implemented.
There 13 units of competency in this qualification. This will be delivered over a period 52 weeks with 16 weeks of holidays, consisting of total of 13.5 hours per week of classroom based face-to-face learning and 6.5 hours of online learning delivered through SMC e-learning platform based on Moodle ( Click here to go to E-Learning site ) i.e., total of 20 hours per week.
Following 13 units need to be completed. These include 8 core units and 5 elective units as per training package requirements:

Assessments
Assessment is structured throughout the course. If students are unable to achieve competency, additional support is provided through mentoring and access to re-assessment as outlined in our policies and procedures. Assessment requires achievement across all tasks to demonstrate competence and includes:
Direct observation i.e., simulated off-the-job situation that reflects the workplace.
Product based methods i.e., reports, displays, work samples, role plays, and presentations.
Portfolio i.e., written documents, photographs, videos or logbooks.
Questioning i.e., written or oral questioning, conducting interviews and questionnaires.

After achieving the FNS40217 Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping, candidates may undertake Diploma qualification leading to an Advanced Diploma from the FNS Financial Services Training Package or any other training package to further enhance their career opportunities in their chosen field. Candidates may also choose to seek entry into an undergraduate degree such as a Bachelor of Accounting at an Australian Higher Education Provider (subject to the Higher Education Provider’s course entry requirements).
